For many travelers Halong bay is a very well known and attract millions of visitors each year. The fishing village is consist of around 1500 to 1600 people live in the fishing villages around the Halong Bay ( Bay of Halong ), They live on floating houses and are sustained through fishing and marine aquaculture.

The fishing families of Halong Bay live on small floating houses anchored in sheltered coves at the bases of tall mountainous islands, thus deriving some natural protection from Mother Nature’s wrath in typhoon season. There are several fishing villages in the bay, the largest fishing village is Cua Van with about 130 floating houses and a population of about ~ 600 people.

The floating village is home to generations of these fishing families and many of the residents never leave, they grow up and grow old in this tiny unique world they are born into.

The children learn to swim before they can walk and they row little bamboo-basket watercraft on their own, and amazingly deftly, when cruising through the Halong Bay, you will see them through.

Ba Hang Fishing Village

As a large and age-old fishing village in Hạlong bay, Vông Viêng flanked by great historical and cultural value which attracts lots of tourists everyday. and, you can visit Vong Vieng after disembarking the cruise, then, you will be transferred by rowing boats, or doing kayaking to enter the fishing village.

There are about 50 families in the village and the population is something ~ 250 to 300 residents.
These families have lived in this village for generations and the floating houses look spacious and clean.  some of these floating houses is decorated and included even with a T.V, chairs and tables, 
There is one community house here where villagers come to have meetings. Here is also the place tourists stopover to shop some traditional hand- made items.

Cua Van Fishing Village

The Cua Van is situated at Hung Thang, Halong City, 20km away from the tourist boat pier, the fishing village lies in a calm bay surrounded by mountain. the Cua Van Village's population mainly earn their livelihood by fishing.

This makes it ideal for anchoring boats here. Their floating houses look spacious and clean.

The village boasts a training center for the children which lies four classrooms. They are the first floating classrooms in Halong.  At the time of writing Cua Van has 7 classes, mainly in grade 1 and grade 2. The youngest pupil is 8, while the oldest one is 17.
