# 3 incomparable contrast between South and North Vietnam

In Theory, at least that's what i think, the difference between South and North Vietnam is enormous.
Anyways, Anyone can be surprised to encounter such friendliness in the south Vietnam, especially because we heard some negative stories from others who warned us when in Ho Chi Minh City, as you know, the atmosphere in cities is always a bit different. Sure, everyone was trying to sell us something and Vietnamese are definitely more assertive than sellers in other countries.

Opposed to the north Vietnam, in the south we found they bargained in a funny way. Food-wise, South Vietnam was amazing – a complexity of flavors that is truly delicious, We never thought another country in South East Asia can compete with our all-time favorite meals, but South Vietnamese kitchen definitely can. Lastly, it was warm and sunny down there, which always adds to one’s mood and personal comfort. 4 best Indochina lager beers

4 best Indochina lager beers

Got your Visa to Vietnam and already in Vietnam, Vietnam is famous for it’s many local beers and with prices so much lower than your average pint in the Australia or Europe, it would be good and fun to take advantage and sample as many different beverages as possible on your Travel in Vietnam

Of course there is more to Indochina than beer, but there is something special about a cold brew in a hot and tropical countries like Vietnam, Laos and or Cambodia, and the fact that it pairs so well with hot and spicy dishes is a real bonus. If you find this blog inspires you to try them for yourself, why not check out our Vietnamese Private Tours , where you can sample many highlights of Indochina peninsula as well.

But let’s get back to what is this article about, the 4 Best Beers in the region

# 1 Beer Lao, Laos

Hailing from Laos and its capital city serene Vientiane, the Lao Brewery Company has been brewing the Beer lao, which I call it Asian wonder since 1973 and just two years after the company first opened its doors. To market a unique product, they combined the European art of craft making with an ingredient that captures Laos heart – rice. A combination of malted barley from France and Belgium, polished rice from Laos, sand-filtered water as well as hops and yeast imported from Germany are used in the original standard brewing process.

The Lao Beer is Conjuring memories of long lazy days in the sun and chilled out nights watching the sunset on a beautiful beach, this beer is a definite favourite. Brewed in Vientiane, Laos. this highly drinkable beverage is fast becoming popular internationally for its refreshing and light taste. Try it, however, in terms of flavor; I felt lots of light malt aromas on the nose with hints of rice pushing through. The palate enjoys a light offering of sweet rice with a mix of malt and grassy hops and is not too carbonated leading to a slightly heavy felt.

Beerlao says “Beerlao marries itself perfectly with Asian style cooking and fiery spices but has the effortless, authentic quirky style that is gaining followers who just want to drink a good quality beer with friends. The perfect serve for any occasion.” To be honest, I couldn’t agree more. For me, beer lao it’s one of those beers that you can have in any type of environment and not be frowned upon. And to be fair, if an establishment sells it, you won’t be the only one drinking it either, which is always a good sign.

# 2 Beer Saigon, Vietnam

Vietnam is top dog when it comes to beer, and is famous for its many beers, Although Beer Saigon doesn’t offer such a flavour some hit like Chang in Thailand, its drink ability provides a perfect companion to a relaxed night during yourVietnam Tours.

Beer Saigon, It started to be very popular brand beer in all over Vietnam since long times ago and it will become soon a favorite beer for any new comer to Vietnam,  upon your visiting to Ho Chi Minh City, you will soon eager to join the local way to have a beer or two that is offering  by local vendors who decided to get on the act offering beers on the street - as the locals have always enjoyed it.
As a back-packer and the one who always travel for learning and enjoying I saw other backpackers and young Vietnamese squeeze into these packed little street stalls on tiny plastic stools to chat, drink and watch Saigon rush by at close range. Its awesome, right…

Saigon Lager beer has a low alcoholic level and a pleasant taste so that the drinkers will not feel headache or thirsty after drinking. Also, the beer bottle comes with the larger capacity of about 450 ml per glass bottle.

Saigon Export Beer is a famous brand of SABECO due to its light tasting flavour and low alcoholic level of 4.9%. The beer is packaged in a 355ml glass bottle and more delicious when it is kept chilled.

Saigon Special Beer is also called unofficially “Short Saigon” due to its funny design as a green 330ml glass bottle with a short neck. Contrary to the strange yet interesting package is the tasty and high quality beer inside the bottle that can satisfy any customers.

# 3 Beer Hanoi, Vietnam

Let’s finish off on a high with Hanoi. It tastes like beer , it is cheap as chips and widely available when traveling in Vietnam. We like it most when squeezed into a child-sized plastic chair in a street stall in Hanoi’s busy old quarter. If you fancy going a little more local on your Vietnamese Private tour why not try the ‘people’s beer’ of Bia Hoi which is a favorite in the capital. Hanoi

HABECO - or Hanoi Beer is a state-owned beer producer that is widely preferred in the North and Centre of Vietnam. Beer Hanoi is popular due to its unique taste as well as a diverse range of flavor, the beer Lao company, the HABECO is currently offering many kinds of beer, as following
Draught Beer, or simply Bia Hoi, this kind of beer is a famous product of Beer Hanoi Company for a long time. Bia Hoi is often cool, fresh and pure with a natural flavour. This Draught beer is being sold under three types: 50litre and 30litre keg (mostly for beer restaurants ) and 2litre keg (for individuals use).

Bottled Beer: this nice flavored beer has been released recently with higher sanitary condition than Bia Hoi but the fact that it is bottled might turn Bia Hoi fans off, for it is no longer fresh to taste.
Canned beer: Canned beer of is getting popular, though Heineken still dominates the domestic market. This beer is more portable since it is light and easy to carry around.

# 4 Angkor Beer, Cambodia

Angkor Beer is a Cambodian beer. It is named after the Ancient Khmer Angkor temples near Siem Reap, and is the most widely consumed beer in Cambodia, try it for sure when you in Cambodia.
Angkor Beer is the default beer in Cambodia - everpresent, extremely affordable, and ever-welcome when cold and imbibed just after a whole day exploring the ruins of the Angkor temples. The flavor of the Angkor beer is somewhat low-profile with a distinct hoppy presence, but it packs a relatively high alcohol content at 5.5%.

Angkor has been made and bottled in Cambodia since the 1960s, and every corner store, restaurant, and dive bar serves the stuff in massive quantities. Cambodians are great drinkers - there are cave drawings in Cambodia showing drunkards sleeping off their rice beer hangovers - and in Angkor they've got a beer to match their thirst.

Son Doong Cave - The World's largest Cave in Vietnam

Hang Son Doong Cave - Son Doong Cave

The Hang Son Doong Cave was first discovered by a Local Vietnamese man in 1991, but British cavers were the first to explore it in 2009. Now, Touching Indochina Tour is running trial tours of the cave and accepting sign-ups for real six-day tours to take place next year.

The man who discovered Son Doong didn't go inside the cave because the entrance he found had too steep a drop. On next year's tours, visitors will rappel 80 meters to enter Son Doong Cave.

The Son Doong Cave in Vietnam is the biggest cave in the world. It's over 5.5 miles long, has a jungle and river, and could fit a 40-story skyscraper within its walls.

Getting to Son Doong Cave - The world's largest Cave in Vietnam

The newly discovered cave has been touted as the largest cave in the world, although other caves vie for the title of longest (Mammoth Cave in Brownsville, Kentucky nabs that title with about 400 miles of passageways) and deepest (Krubera Cave in the nation of Georgia).

The roof of the Son Doong Cave collapsed centuries ago, allowing a lush jungle to take root. Monkeys and flying foxes live in what explorers named the Garden of Edam. On their first night inside the cave, visitors will camp near Hand of Dog, a humongous stalagmite that looks like a dog's paw.

Son Doong Cave is a jackpot of rare cave pearls. The pearls form over hundreds of years as water drips down, dries up and leaves layers of calcite crystals on grains of sand.

Scientists have discovered never-before-seen plant species around Son Doong's waterfalls. Oh, and there's a whole river in there, too.

Vietnam Visa at Tan Son Nhat Airport in Saign( South Vietnam )
Once you land in Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Saigon, prepare your documents, your adventure truly begins. First, you have to find the Immigration counter and visa on arrival desk. Upon exiting the plane, follow the sign post leading you to “Arrival Section.” This will lead you to the immigration visa lines but you do not want to enter these lines yet. Instead, you must go to a small area to the far left of immigration, labelled as “Vietnam Landing Visa”. Here you will find a window, a handful of booths for the less prepared to fill out forms, and a waiting area of about 20 seats.

Unless you are lucky, you will see what can sometimes be a large line queued in front of the window. This is the first taste some get of standing in line in Vietnam. Although an orderly line may be formed, some will simply bypass the line and walk straight to the window. Nobody on the other side of the glass will call you up. When you finally get to the window, you will hand one of the nice men or women on the other side all of your lovely prepared paper work, your photo and your passport.

Take a seat and get comfortable; depending on the length of the line, this process can take anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour. When your Vietnam Visa has finally been processed they will call your name over the intercom to come back to the window. Once there you will pay your visa fee, which varies depending on the length and type of visa – a three-month multiple entry visa is currently $95 while the one month single entry is $ 45 The only accepted currency at this window is American Dollars; no other foreign currency is accepted. After paying the fee you will be given your passport, now complete with your Vietnam visa, and you are free to go through the immigration line, retrieve your luggage and catch an airport taxi into town.
