Hue is the capital of Thừa Thiên–Huế Province in the central part of Vietnam. The city had been the imperial capital of Vietnam for almost 150 years and it had a significant impact on its culture, architecture, cuisine local customs and people’s everyday life even till nowadays. 1.How To Get There?
By plane: Phu Bai International Airport is located 15 km south of Hue. It serves daily domestic flights to/from the airports of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The price for taxi from the airport to the centre of Hue should cost nearly $12 (250,000 VND). Also you can take a bus that goes from the airport to the city and pay for it just about $2 (50,000 VND). The tickets are sold in the arrival hall of the airport. 
By train: There are several big cities that are well connected with Hue and allow you to travel by train with an additional “bonus” – picturesque views of the Vietnamese countryside. 
The train from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam to Hue departures daily. The trip lasts about 12 hours and the ticket costs from $29 to $56, depends on the type of your seat. 
From Ho Chi Minh City you will travel nearly 20 hours and pay for your ticket from $44 to $80.
If you arrive to Danang’s airport, you can also take a train to Hue from there. In this case your trip will last for less than 3 hours. The ticket price is between $11 – 15.
You can book a ticket on the website of Vietnam Railways System. Children under the age of 2 can travel for free. For children from 2 to 9 years old the price will be 50% of the adult price.
By car: If you decide to rent a car, remember that according to the laws of Vietnam, visitors can’t rent a car and drive here. The only possible option is to rent a car with a local driver. The rate is around 50 – 60$ per day.
2.Top Places To See

Imperial Citadel (Đại Nội) 
The citadel is a former royal residence of the Imperial City and probably, the biggest and most famous sight of the city that attracts tourists from all over the world. Nowadays this is complex of temples, pavilions, moats, walls, gates, shops, museums and galleries, featuring art and costumes from various periods of history. Spend some time walking around, if you want to see the ancient architecture, to feel the imperial atmosphere and understand the Vietnamese culture. The entrance fee is nearly $5 (105,000 VND).

The Imperial Tombs of Hue
This is another great attraction located along the Perfume River south of the city. There are seven Tombs of the Emperors in the city of Hue. Most of them were built  in the end of XIX – beginning of XX century. 
To get there, you may use a taxi or motorbike, but also you hire a boat and go for a cruise. The price for the boat trip is about $2 and also includes lunch aboard the boat! Entrance fee to the tombs is nearly $4 (80,000 VND).

Have A Motorbike Adventure
Motorbike tours are pretty popular in Hue and Vietnam generally. You experience the city and its surrounding on your own. Or you rent a motorbike with a driver and see more beautiful places and hear more interesting stories from your guide. Whatever you prefer, it is up to you! But the only thing we can be sure about is that you will enjoy your trip and feel Vietnam in a way you’ve never felt before. There are many companies in Hue offering motorbike tours. A guided trip will cost approximately $30.
Visit Thuan An Beach
Wherever you go in Vietnam, you will definitely find an absolutely stunning beach within a radius of few kilometers. Just in 15 minutes by taxi from the city of Hue, you can find the famous Thuan Ah Beach. Discover Local Cuisine
The royal past of the city had an impact even on the local cuisine, which is very different from the culture of food in other parts of Vietnam. First of all, because of its prominent vegetarianism, because local people are very strict about the tradition of eating vegetarian food according to the Buddhist believes. The second thing that you may notice is that usually the dishes you get in the restaurants are not very big size, but always presented in a fine way.
